The Amsterdammers were flocking to greet the Canadians turned. It was the beginning of a lot of Liberation events, which would last for the whole summer. The reconstruction is a period of hard work. There is a lot of housing and the economy is silent. Within a few years the Netherlands rebuilt and got a growing economy. Life after the second world war is getting better.
