The Municipality is more concerned with the Amsterdam markets interfere

Het Parool, Bart van Zoelen, January 12, 2018. Amsterdam has no fewer than 34 markets (10 day markets) with 9100 stalls every week. They provide 1500 full-time jobs. Things are going badly in some markets, especially the markets outside the center are experiencing (large) vacancies. Other markets, such as the Dappermarkt, Albert Cuyp, the Noordermarkt and the Boekenmarkt on the Spui, are doing well. Councilor Udo Kock (Economic Affairs) is thinking of more cooperation, promotion and advice for market traders.
